Cathy Chambers
Cathy Chambers is an accomplished artist with 40 years of painting experience, and has been designing for the past 15 years.
Mrs. Chambers considers herself an American Folk Artist and has been an instructor of adult classes and seminars for about 30 years Among her many west coast training seminars are Color Theory, Design & Composition, American Folk Art, Norwegian Rosemaling styles from the different regions, Dutch Dala and Delft Painting, Zostovo painting from Russia, and folk art styles from France, Germany and Italy. She is a member of the California Rosemaling Associationand the Society of Decorative Painters.
Cathy was invited to and participated in the 2009 Summer Exhibition in Seljord, Norway. The piece on exhibit was an 18" plate painted in the Telemark rosemaling style. The exhibit was viewed by over 68,000 visitors.
While she has experience in many mediums, her preferred medium is in Chrome acrylics. Mrs. Chambers has been featured in Jo Sonja's Artist Journal. The inspiration for her work comes from living in a beautiful place and a love of color and design. Those inspirations are manifest not only in her painting, but in quilting, needlework and sewing.
